Connecting the hardware¶
How Protequ reaches it¶
Protequ connects to the Galaxy Gxy Smart panel directly over the network (TCP). The panel listens
for the remote connection on port 10001. Point Protequ at the panel's IP address and that port and
it opens the link itself - no gateway or converter is involved.
Before you start¶
- The panel must be on the site network and reachable from the Protequ server. From a machine on
that network you should be able to reach the panel's IP address, and port
10001must be open all the way through (no firewall or router blocking it). - Remote management must be allowed in the panel's engineer programming, otherwise the panel refuses the connection.
- Have both access codes ready that Protequ will present when it connects:
- the module connection password - exactly 10 numeric digits;
- the panel remote code - numeric, at least 4 digits (panels commonly ship with
543210).
On the equipment¶
- Give the panel a fixed IP address on the site network, or reserve its address on the router so it never changes.
- In the panel's engineer programming, enable remote access so the panel accepts an incoming remote management connection.
- Confirm the panel accepts the connection on port
10001. Use this port in Protequ unless the panel is set to a different one. - Set or read back the module connection password - exactly 10 numeric digits. This is the code Protequ sends first to open the link.
- Set or read back the panel remote code - numeric, at least 4 digits. This is the second code
Protequ sends to log in to the panel itself. If it has never been changed it is usually
543210.
In Protequ¶
Enter the values on the adapter's configuration page:
| Value set on the panel | Field in Protequ | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Panel IP address | Host / IP address | Required. |
| Connection port | Port | Default 10001. Leave as is unless changed on the panel. |
| Module connection password | Password | Exactly 10 numeric digits. Required. |
| Panel remote code | Remote password | At least 4 digits. Defaults to 543210. |
| - | Response timeout | Seconds to wait for a reply. Default 20; raise only on a slow link. |
Confirm it works¶
This adapter does not scan for parts on its own, so you enter the panel, areas, zones and readers in the configuration yourself. To confirm the link is live, arm or disarm an area from the panel, or trip a detector, and watch the adapter: the matching event and the changed status must appear in Protequ within a few seconds. If events and status updates flow, the connection is good.
If it does not connect¶
- No connection at all. The panel's IP address is wrong, or port
10001is blocked between the Protequ server and the panel. Check the address, and open the port through any firewall or router in between. - Connection drops immediately or is refused. One of the two codes is wrong. Re-check that the module connection password is exactly 10 digits and the panel remote code matches what is set in the panel. A wrong code makes the panel reject the login and close the link.
- Panel refuses the remote session. Remote access is not enabled in the panel's engineer programming, or another remote tool is already holding the panel's single remote connection. Enable remote access and make sure nothing else is connected to the panel at the same time.
