PQA021 — Invalid updatable value

An entity's updatable: is something other than inplace or replace.

updatable: tells the differ what to do when an entity's content changes while its identity stays the same.

Value What the differ emits
inplace An update writing the changed record over the existing slot
replace A delete of the old record followed by a create

The choice belongs to the protocol. A panel that accepts a record write at a known slot supports inplace; a panel that only accepts add and delete needs replace.

Why the build refuses this

An unrecognised value has no behaviour to fall back on. Silently choosing one of the two would make the adapter write to a panel in a way the protocol may not accept, and the failure appears as a rejected frame during synchronization.

How to fix it

Write one of the two spellings, lowercase.

updatable: inplace

Pick it from the vendor documentation of the record table: if there is a documented write-at-slot command, inplace; if the only path to a changed record is delete-then-add, replace.

If you disagree with a report

Do not suppress it. A wrong report is a bug in the check — report it with the YAML that triggered it.
