PQA027 — Event not found in taxonomy¶
A declared event id does not exist in
pq-events.yaml.
Every event an adapter can publish is declared by id, and every id resolves against the shared taxonomy. The taxonomy is what gives an event its severity, its parameters and its place in the hierarchy — pq.event.access.door.opened is a leaf under a category consumers can subscribe to wholesale.
Why the build refuses this¶
An unknown id would generate an event nobody expects. It gets default severity, no parameters, and no place in the hierarchy — so no subscription matches it, no rule fires on it, and it reaches the audit trail as an orphan.
Event ids are a contract, not adapter-local names. The whole point of the taxonomy is that a door opening looks the same whoever made the panel.
How to fix it¶
Take the id verbatim from pq-events.yaml. Subscriptions match on the dotted path, so a near-miss is as wrong as a nonsense name.
If the event genuinely has no taxonomy entry, the missing entry is the defect. Adding an id to the shared taxonomy is a deliberate act — raise it rather than approximating with a neighbouring event, and never bury the occurrence as device.unknown, which asserts the meaning is unknown when it is documented.
If you disagree with a report¶
Do not suppress it. A wrong report is a bug in the check — report it with the YAML that triggered it.
